#WDE15 – 3rd Annual Women Driving Excellence [Video & Photos]
The 3rd Annual Women Driving Excellence at the Chicago Auto Show was a full day event held on February 17, 2015 title sponsored by Nissan.
This year’s #WDE15 honored six trailblazing women who start, accelerate, fuel and steer others to excellence: Anita Alvarez, State’s Attorney, Cook County; Debi Lilly, Chief Eventeur, A Perfect Event; Dorri McWhorter, CEO, YWCA Chicago; Janet Davies, Host, ABC-7; Lucy Moy-Bartosik, Commander, Chicago Police Department and Dr. Suzet McKinney, Deputy Commissioner, Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response. Each honoree shared their inspirational stories and tips as they received recognition for their outstanding efforts. Fitness celebrity, Andrea Metcalf, emceed this event.

Diversity done right actually helps everybody.
I am fueled every day by the stories I hear and by the people I meet.
The world is out there to take it for whatever you want. You just have to say ‘I want to try it!’ If you don’t take that first step, you’ll never know.
What drives me is to be a role model for other women and young girls.
It’s so important for women to support women. Leave the ladder down for other women to climb that ladder of success!

The festivities was first kicked-off with the Networking Power Hour sponsored by StateFarm. NAWBO presented on why it’s important to be part of a business organization and EPWNG gave out valuable tips on how to network effectively. A speed networking followed that gave attendees the mission to meet five new people they have never been in contact before.
Right after the honoring of women trailblazers, all attendees were entertained by the performance from the musical The First Date.The #ChicagonistaLIVE show broadcasted live in collaboration with the Chicago Tribune and brought in guests: Carol Lachnit of Edmunds.com, Tamara Harvell of State Farm, and Jen Morand of the Chicago Auto Show Association.
To cap off the full day, Verizon with Andrea Meyer sponsored the Gearing Up Your Social Videos with expert speakers Shawna Coronado of ShawnaCoronado.com and Beth Engleman of MommyOnAShoestring.com
